Patrol Officer Response to Active Shooter 3-day Course (Lodging is included) Class Size MIN/MAX: 10/24 Space is limited so be sure to book your seat(s) soon to assure availability. Certified Law Enforcement Officer Instructors will be leading the training. Objectives/Course Content: This course is designed to teach law enforcement officers basic tactical skills to successfully operate in the patrol operations environment, particularly in response to an active shooter situation. Through both classroom study and field exercises, participants will learn a variety of tactical skills. These skills include close quarter battle, personnel handling techniques, combat first aid, and light mechanical breaching. This course also includes marksmanship exercises with the participant’s department issued handgun, rifle, or submachine gun. Marksmanship includes several dry and live fire exercises in a variety of environments. Pre-Requisites: Participants must be sworn law enforcement/corrections officers or military personnel. Participants must be skilled in the use of their weapons per their respective department’s qualification standards. Before attending this course, each participant’s weapons must be sighted in. Additional Information: The field portion of this course is conducted in a medium-high risk environment at varying levels of intensity. Participants, therefore, must be in excellent physical and mental condition and maintain a minimum 80% class average. Each successful graduate of this course will receive a certificate. Students will bring primary and secondary weapons with appropriate ammo amounts. Additionally, appropriate clothing for both classroom and outdoor activities (including range-time) are required.
